MEZZALAMA TROPHY 2019

The 2019 edition of the Mezzalama Trophy has been incredible. Critical weather and snow conditions have forced the organization to modify the original route. Thus for the first time in the history of the Trophy the athletes follow a new path, through the refuge of the Guide d'Ayas down to the Pian di Verra and then up again to the Colle of Bettolina and from here to the Quintino Sella Refuge. At this point the athletes put on their skis and started downhill before hurrying over the last positive drop that brought them closer to the finish line. I spent the whole morning between the ridge to the Quintino Sella and the refuge itself, trying to shoot despite the incredibly strong wind forced me to wear the ski mask and the cold reached perceived temperatures between -25 C ° and -30 C °. A unique and intense experience in the mountains that I always loved and that have marked my first mountaineering steps. The first Mezzalama is never forgotten! Even from behind the lens ;).
